Karman Space and Defense is Hiring a Materials Test Lab Technician Near Mukilteo, WA
We are looking for a Materials Test Lab Technician!
Pay Range: $21.50 hr. - $28 hr.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Assembles test coupons and prepares samples using appropriate machines, tools, and instruments
- Reads precision measuring tools and instruments
- Uses chemicals, adhesives, and solvents as required
- Operates test instrumentation – load frame, thermal instrumentation, physical test methods
- Records data and performs basic data analysis
- Reads and understands blueprints and drawings
- Reads and understands test method specifications
- Assists with basic facility maintenance and clean-up
- Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Required Education: High School diploma;
- Preferred Education: AA or BA/BS from engineering or automotive program
- Required Experience: Experience with basic hand and power tools
- Required: Computer proficiency and familiarity with common office applications (Word, Excel required)
- Preferred: Experience in aerospace and defense advanced composites manufacturing environments
- Demonstrates passion for the aerospace and defense industry, and strong desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Demonstrates mechanical aptitude and a strong work ethic
- Physical requirements of this position include moderate physical and repetitious work, standing for extended periods of time, the use of stairs and occasional heavy lifting
