KARL STORZ ENDOSCOPY is Hiring a Senior Marketing Manager, Urology Near El Segundo, CA

I. Job Purpose and Core Tasks

The Senior Marketing Manager, Urology is a unique role that combines leading a business partner relationship and marketing initiatives for a proprietary bladder cancer detection system as well as creating and executing an effective strategy to win in the outpatient setting. This role will lead two critical focus areas for the U.S. Urology business: Outpatient Strategy and Blue Light Cystoscopy.

This role is elevated from a standard marketing role; you will serve as the business leader for the portfolios you represent and collaborate frequently with the global marketing and product management teams. You will work closely with cross-functional partners like Sales, Program Managers, Training, Regulatory, and Corporate Communications. Essentially, you are running your own business!

The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of marketing concepts, managing business partnerships, strategic development, product management, medical devices, and the healthcare market. He/she thrives in a fast-paced environment and is adept at thinking on their feet.

Core Tasks:

  • Independently implements strategic marketing tactics and plans that support the specialty with a specific focus on driving revenue growth, increased market share, and brand awareness.
  • Independently develops marketing resources (internal and external) to increase sales effectiveness and brand awareness and engagement.
  • Leads product/program launches for the specialty and on-going management of the legacy product/program portfolio.
  • Global collaboration with business partners as necessary.
  • Engages with and provides direct Marketing support to Field Sales and Service who drive the Specialty Sales as well as providing training to new hires.
  • Regularly solicits the field and customers for insights, input, and ideas on how to optimize current products/programs or how to create new products/programs and reports out on findings.
  • Acts as subject matter and technical expert resource for the assigned specialty.
  • Partners with Technical Services to ensure they are aware of new product capabilities and resources.
  • Stays current on market trends and new product development opportunities.
  • In partnership with product management, demand planning and materials management, is responsible for the demand planning/forecasting for specialty's products, as applicable.
  • Ambassador for brand, image, and messaging of the specialty's product portfolio in U.S. market.
  • Partners with geographies, marketing specialties, education team and functional experts to develop and execute field and customer education and training plan.
  • Independently executes product/program positioning, messaging, and marketing/advertising plan in alignment with broader portfolio considerations.
  • Creates a strong commercial execution partnership with key external and internal stake holders delivering on metrics.
  • Synthesizes market trends and communicates implications to Marketing, US Sales, and Americas Leadership Team through regular reporting.
  • Creates strategic scorecards, dashboards, and reports by utilizing analytics (pulled or provided) to enhance business decisions.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with Key Opinion Leaders within the specialty across the country.
  • Helps mentor and guide junior teammates and is seen as a leader within the team.
  • Efficiently completes job related tasks and can support additional activities and projects beyond their role.
  • Independently takes initiative and proactively works on projects, seeking action/ responses from cross-functional team members, etc.
  • Independently manages labs and conventions with minimal guidance and delivers on customer and field expectations. Reports out on activities and key learnings to team and management and follows up on leads and action items.

II. Minimum Knowledge, Education and Skill Requirements

Required

Minimum years of relevant work experience:

  • 5-7 years of medical sales and/or marketing experience (minimum of 2 years in Marketing)
  • Proven mastery in writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience demonstrating proficiency of Marketing Principles, concepts, and methodologies.
  • Proven experience demonstrating proficiency in market research and sales forecasting principles and methodologies.
  • Excellence in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with Third-party manufacturers/Agencies is a must.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SAP.

Minimum education, certifications and/or credentials:

Bachelor's degree

Preferred

Preferred years of relevant work experience:

  • Experience in project managing cross-collaborative projects involving stakeholders from IT, Regulatory, Sales, Marketing, Product/Program Development, etc.
  • Medical device marketing/product management, MIS experience is a plus.

III. Essential Function

  • Reports directly to the Group Marketing Manager, Associate Director, Director, Sr. Director or Executive Director if there is no GMM.
  • Works independently and makes effective decisions while taking general direction from management. Manages projects, mostly independently, with guidance from management.
  • Effectively prioritizes work and schedules activities that maximize effectiveness and supports marketing and sales goals.
  • Manages own projects as appropriate under the direction of management and supports teammates in teamwide projects.
  • Works with appropriate cross functional team members.
  • Adheres to the cost center annual budget (OPEX).
  • Ensure full compliance and legal approvals for all commercial activities.
  • Frequently & effectively organizes resources, analyzing and solving problems, establishing priorities, and making evaluative judgments within projects they manage.

Physical requirement/Demands: Ability to do work that may require lifting heavy objects in excess of 25 pounds.Employee may request for human or mechanical assistance whenever asked to move or handle equipment.

IV. Core Requirements
