Our client, Huron Gastro, P.C. is an adult medical gastroenterology practice specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of disorders that affect the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon), rectum, liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreas. Our practice includes 22 physicians board-certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, 8 Advanced Practice Providers, and an outstanding staff of clinical and administrative personnel.

Huron Gastro currently has a newly created opportunity for a Practice Administrator. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this position will be responsible for the daily operations of the office, ensuring efficient and smooth workflow.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in medical office management, preferably in an ambulatory healthcare setting
  • A degree in Healthcare Administration preferred
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and documentation requirements
  • Experience in managing office staff and overseeing day-to-day operations
  • Proficiency in utilizing practice management software for scheduling, billing, and recordkeeping
  • Familiarity with utilization management processes and strategies for optimizing resource allocation

Responsibilities Include

  • Oversee the daily operations of the medical office, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow
  • Manage and supervise office staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
  • Develop and implement office policies and procedures to maintain compliance with industry regulations
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, including appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring confidentiality and security
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care and outcomes
  • Monitor and manage utilization management processes to ensure appropriate resource allocation
  • Implement and maintain managed care contracts and relationships with insurance providers
  • Ensure internal processes to achieve financial management standards
  • Assist the Chief Operating Officer with projects as assigned
