Kapili Services, LLC is Hiring a Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Laboratory Support Near Atlanta, GA

The Alaka'ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a potential need for top talent to provide Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Laboratory Support (CSELS) to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) out of Atlanta, GA.

SUPPORT AREAS INCLUDE:

  • Public Health Surveillance System Support - Provide support to enhance and maintain innovative public health surveillance systems and methods that improve the nation's ability to monitor health, disease, injury, and disability and improve connectivity between local, state, regional and national surveillance systems. Re-evaluate the effectiveness of current programs and establish new goals and priorities for surveillance science and systems.
  • Public Health Informatics Programs Support - Evaluate and redirect the focus of key public health informatics programs to provide improved service to state and local health departments by the systematic application of information and computer science and technology to public health practice, research and learning.
  • Epidemiological Analytic Support - Provide epidemiological analytic capabilities by building on the base of successful established programs like the Community Guide and the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, and establish a well-respected consult service in the areas of epidemiology, statistics, public health economics and other analytical methods.
  • Public Health Education Support - Provide support to Improve the science and practice of public health education, via: continued quality improvement in fellowships, leadership, and other training; Definition/dissemination of educational standards for fellowships and training activities, and offering consultation for educational design and evaluation to other programs across the agency; Research/dissemination of methods for defining and assessing competencies in public health; and Strengthening the current evidence base used to determine the workforce education needs in public health and relevant areas of clinical medicine.
  • Public Health Laboratory Science/Policy Support - Provide support services to create an organizational framework to strengthen public health laboratory science, policy and practice at the state, local and global levels. Establish a coordinated approach to addressing cross-cutting issues in the areas of laboratory policy, science and practice.
  • Recruitment Support -provide support services to assist in recruiting leadership and staff so that the scientific credibility and value of the offices can be demonstrated to programs and external partners through research, consultation, service, and innovation. Develop a highly collaborative service culture among the offices and between national centers, institutes, and offices.
  • Administrative Support - Provide administrative and/or technical support services. Identify the types of skillsets needed to assist in providing administrative and/or technical assistance.
  • Supervisory and Management Support - "Senior" technical skilled personnel may assume supervisory responsibility. Some roles only single on-site individuals. In these instances, off-site supervision with occasional visitation is usually the most economical method to be used. Employ management practices that ensure all requirements are fulfilled in a technically compliant and timely manner to manage services on a global basis.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be proficient in English.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in a related position is preferred.
  • Experience supporting the CDC, or a public health program is preferred.

  • Education requirements vary by position.

  • Must pass a background check to obtain a common access card (CAC).
