Position number: K0186910Position Title and Salary: Spanish Interpreter (Trial Court Coordinator), Grade 33, $51,780 annuallyLocation of Employment: 10^th Judicial District, Olathe, KansasKansas Judicial Branch Benefits:State Employment Center - Benefits (ks.gov) Job duties: This is a highly responsible position, tasked with Spanish interpretation for the 10^th Judicial District Court. Responsibilities include but are not limited to document translation, and subsequent and simultaneous courtroom interpretation. Additional duties may include subsequent interpretation of Court Services appointments and walk-in clients at the Johnson County Courthouse.Required education and experience: High School Graduation, Spanish proficiency. Minimum of three years’ experience interpreting in a court or other professional setting. Preferred qualifications: Courtroom interpretation experience, completion of the Kansas Judicial Branch Court Interpreter Orientation (free online program), knowledge of Kansas Supreme Court Rule 1703 (Kansas Code of Professional Responsibility for Court Interpreters), court interpreter certification (Missouri or elsewhere).
