Kansas Children's Service League (KCSL) of Garden City, KS is looking for a full-time Spanish-speaking Early Head Start Parent & Child Educator to join our nonprofit team and help provide services to a caseload of children and their families. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

OUR IDEAL SPANISH-SPEAKING EARLY HEAD START PARENT & CHILD EDUCATOR

We are looking for someone who is Spanish-speaking and passionate about educating families and children toward future growth and stability.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

In this Spanish-speaking Early Head Start Parent & Child Educator role at our nonprofit, we rely on you to work closely with children and their families as you come alongside them to promote continued parental involvement in their children's education. You regularly provide guidance, support, and services to aide children and their parents to better function both individually and within their family unit. Further, you complete home visits and coordinate any required program services, ensuring any Health and Family Services mandates are followed. Being a hands-on resource, dedicated to keeping open lines of communication, you work closely with families to help identify and continually access the services and resources available to them in the community. And, you regularly communicate with your supervisor as well.

In addition to keeping close contact with the families in your charge, you further promote education by conducting 2-hour socialization events twice per week and parent meetings 12 times per year. You effectively utilize the ChildPlus.net and Frog Street Aim systems to accurately perform required data entry for any documentation related to your caseload. Being highly organized, you understand the importance of accurately maintaining all case files in accordance with governmental regulations as well as our organizational philosophies and policies. You provide ample support for our programming through recruitment of income- and age-eligible children as well as parent representatives for our policy council and parenting committees. When needed, you are happy to help transport children and their families to and from medical appointments and if emergencies arise. At the end of the day, you take pride in your role of facilitating strong family relationships and enjoy seeing your hard work pay off in the overall success of the children and families in your care!

WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time Spanish-speaking Head Start educator position requires extensive local travel to homes, trainings, and recruitment events as well as providing transportation to group socialization and parent meetings.
