Kansas Children's Service League is looking to hire a full-time Healthy Families Assistant Director - Northeast Region. This position earns a competitive wage of up to $68,000 annually and works a Monday - Friday schedule with occasional evenings and weekends.

JOB SUMMARY

The Healthy Families Assistant Director provides Leadership to the Healthy Families Programs in the Northeast region, including Kansas City, Topeka, and Ottawa.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Leadership
    • Provides the direct supervision for Healthy Families supervisors in multiple communities as directed, supporting staff through professional development, case consultations as needed, and individual supervision.
    • Supports the local programs with their Advisory Councils or Community Leadership and Development Councils and provide opportunities for members to volunteer with the programs. Works closely with program supervisors, philanthropy team, and community volunteers to strengthen the program through partnerships.
  • Budget
    • Under the direction of the Director of Healthy Families and in coordination with the CFO, develops annual program budgets at the individual cost center level for Healthy Families Programs under the direct supervision of this position. Adheres to this approved budget in managing operations day to day. Notes significant variances to budget in a timely manner and works with program supervisors to make adjustments as applicable.
    • Develops and successfully manages grants and required reports that fund Healthy Families programs within the region or as otherwise directed. This includes the management of Healthy Families Medicaid match contracts, TANF funding, Family First funding, Early Childhood Block grants, and MIECHV grants.
  • Program Management
    • Provide monthly individual reflective supervision with Program Supervisors to assess goals in individual service planning and case management coordination, as well as ongoing supervision as needs arise.
    • Monitor and review critical incidents, supporting staff and families through difficult situations and alerting other agency staff as appropriate


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Master’s degree in public health or human services administration or a field related to working with children and families, or Bachelor’s degree in these fields with 3 years of relevant experience, or less than a bachelor’s degree but with experience supervising a Healthy Families America program.
  • A solid understanding of and experience in managing diverse staff with humility.
  • Administrative experience in human service or related field including experience in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement.
  • Willingness to engage in building reflective practice
  • Ability to verbally, and through professional work, articulate KCSL’s mission and values.

Preferred

  • Infant mental health endorsement
  • Development experience including grant writing and fundraising.
