Kane County is Hiring a Correction officer Near Geneva, IL

Illinois Corrections Officer Certification or equivalent, or be certifiable through ILETSB. Minimum of one year of sworn corrections experience, currently with a corrections agency in good standing status and full-time or equivalent status.

Possess a valid Driver’s License and be a United States Citizen. Must possess a valid FOID card. Pass background investigation, polygraph, and psych test.

Eyesight corrected to 20 / 20, be free of color blindness. Must pass an Oral Interview with the Merit Commission (applicant will be contacted and be advised of the Oral Interview).

Benefits Starting pay ($67,967.17) Completion of year 1 ($72,102.31) Completion of year 2 ($76,237.46) Completion of year 3 ($80,372.

60) Completion of year 4 ($84,507.75) Completion of Year 5 ($88,642.89) Completion of year 6 ($92,778.04) Completion of year 7 ($96,913.

18) Completion of year 8 ($101,048.33) Excellent health, dental, and vision IMRF or SLEP Pension depending on years of service 14 paid holidays, 12 paid sick days per year, and paid vacation $1500 yearly uniform allowance after 1 year 8-hour shifts Two weeks of vacation benefit time upon completion of field training.

Lateral Officers will begin with no seniority and begin with a rate of pay equal to the years of service at their prior agency for starting pay.

Pay increases from that point will be consistent with the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
