Job Title: CVG Station Safety Coordinator

Department: Safety

Reports To: Ground Safety Manager. 

POSITION PURPOSE:

The CVG Station Safety Coordinator reports to the Ground Safety Manager.

The CVG Station Safety Coordinator oversees all safety related issues at the CVG station, and must be qualified through training and experience in, and have a full understanding of, governmental regulations and Company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, 

1. Coordinate with the Ground Safety Manager on the oversite of all safety maters at the CVG station.
2. Conducts safety and security surveys and evaluations on the Company's policies and procedures using all available resources, 
3. Promotes safety for all employees inside and outside the workplace.
4. Maintains a calendar of events and ensures awareness of (and prepared for) each event on their current calendar.
5. Enters data into the safety database, supports staff in reporting of injuries and incidents. 
6. Provides liaison and support to other departments concerning safety matter at the station.
7. Provides liaison with Government and commercial entity's, including OSHA and any state OSHA. Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), and loss prevention specialists from insurance companies, to ensure that all concerns expressed by these agencies are addressed.
8. Accomplishes daily inspections of safety equipment at the station.
9. Maintains adequate PPE/ Safety supplies at the CVG station. 
10. Provides surveillance of operations for potential unsafe conditions.
11. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Ground Safety manager and/or Director of Safety.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

1. Ability to operate independently with little daily supervision.
2. Thorough understanding of Federal OSHA / State OSHA / Airport safety regulations (desired).
3. Experience in airline or military ramp operations (desired).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The CVG Station Safety Coordinator should have established, professional qualifications in sound business practices, be adept in research and discovery procedures, and understand OSHA and transportation regulations. 

Must favorably complete a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security threat assessment (STA) Must undergo a fingerprint based CHRC that does not disclose that they have a disqualifying offense and will be continuously enrolled in the FBI’s RAP back Program. 

Must possess a valid driver license. 

Based at the Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky Intl (KCVG) airport with the potential to travel (with and without advanced notice in case of emergency) to any outstation and other travel as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Occasional heavy lifting may be required for routine audits and survey of hangars and buildings. Walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and the utilization of stairs and ladders will be required. Wearing of PPE (Safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.) will be required, must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
