Summary of Functions
Provides law enforcement services to the Kalispel Tribe of Indians and enforces Tribal, Federal, and State laws.Investigates crimes and helps reduce Tribal liabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Investigates criminal complaints and civil complaints when directed by the Chief of Police or designee. Gathers information and documents regarding crimes and allegations. Prepares and files detailed reports.
• Testifies in the appropriate court on behalf of the Tribe to further the chance of prosecution or to protect the Tribe's assets.
• Patrols Tribal land and properties to enforce all laws and to provide protection and safety for all persons on Tribal lands. Responds to calls for service.
• Provides continuous public relations with other law enforcement and public agencies through presence, education, and assistance.

Physical Demands

• Requires the ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
• Significant portions of the job require extended sedentary periods in a patrol car; constant work with computers, including extended periods of keyboarding; and repetitive motion of hands and wrists.
• This position requires significant amounts of standing or walking.
• This position requires the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to include operation at excessive speeds.

Testing Procedure
All excepted applicants will be required to pass a written and physical agility examination .Those who pass the first phase will continue to the Oral Board Interview followed by the Polygraph and Psychological exams as required by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission.
