Job Summary:

The lifeguards at the camp-resort ensures the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies.

Essential Job Duties: (these duties include, but are not limited to)

Maintain consistent enforcement of pool rules and park policies to be pro-active in maintaining safe operations.

Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.

Provides first responder emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.

Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.

Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.

Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Current lifeguard certification through a certified provider.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written venues

Current certifications in First Aid/CPR and AED or willingness to obtain upon hire

Personable, enjoy working with children/people.

Possess excellent organization and project management skills, leadership skills as well as the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

Possess exceptional guest relations skills.

Weekend hours are required.

Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.

Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department.

Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.

Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.

Physical Requirements:

This position is an extremely physically active position. Employee is regularly required to swim stand, walk and run. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions (hot and humid, rainy, extreme temperatures, airborne particles)
