Senior Technical Writer

Responsibilities:

As a Technical Writer you are expected to fill a dynamic team-oriented role. You will support the creation, modification and maintenance of system related documentation to include technical design documentation, security documentation, and process documentation. The Technical Writer will also be involved in the development of application user guides, reference material, training guides, presentations and various policy related documents covering the IT systems we support.

In this role you will serve as a key member of our project teams, supporting project execution through coordination with other members of the documentation, communication, operations, and technical teams; creation of project deliverables and reliance on your abilities as in document management and versioning; attendance at management and technical meetings with the customer and our vendors; and assisting the project manager in reporting. You may also assist in reviews and updates to stakeholder communication and documentation for specific initiatives under the scope of the contract, including operations and maintenance (O&M) deliverables, security compliance documents, and administrative process improvement efforts. 

A big plus for our team would be previous experience with documenting complex technical systems, a proven ability to pivot between deep-dive technical material, detailed process documents, and user-focused ‘plain English’ writing, Process Analysis and Change Management, communicating with and documenting artifacts for an organization’s Change Advisory Board (CAB) and Configuration Control Board (CCB) and related formal entities, and assisting in or leading documentation support efforts around Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) processes. 

Qualifications:

As a Technical Writer, you should possess the following experience/skills: 

• At least three (5) years practical experience in a technical writing role. 

• At least two (2) years of experience providing consulting services to US Federal Government. 

• Highly proficient with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Visio, and PowerPoint. 

• Experience working in a tight-knit team environment, and proven efficiency navigating between your deadline deliverables and longer-term projects. 

• Demonstrated business acumen. 

• Superior writing, editing, and presentation skills. 

• Ability to quickly become familiar with new software applications and features. 

• Must have critical thinking skills and the ability to research and analyze data and information to solve problems and articulate solutions. 

Education: 

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as Technical Writing, Business Admin, or Information Technology. 

• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and Agile Scrum, Kanban, or Scrumban methodologies is a plus. 

 Security Clearance: 

• Must be US Citizen and able to verify your active Secret clearance in JPAS.
