- In-depth knowledge of firewalls, Cisco IOS/XE Switches, and DISA STIG compliance
- Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments
- Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements
- This position will require installations across supported sites in the Hampton Roads area
- Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed
- Be well versed in all aspects of network administration and engineering
- May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users
- May perform network administration duties
- Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel and may have supervisory responsibilities
- May serve as technical team or task leader
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
- Participates in special projects as required
- 5 years of experience
- Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education, technical certification or training, or work experience
- Have a Security CE Certification (or equivalent)
- CCNA required/CCNP preferred
- Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network analysis and design required.
- Advanced knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software required.
- Experience with vendor relationships.
- Depending on job assignment, additional specific certifications may be required.
- The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.
