West Middle SchoolJob Summary:
Responsible for the assisting with the middle school football program at Portage West Middle School.
Responsibilities:

• Assist the coach of the Portage West Middle School Football Team.
• Teach basic football athletic skills, offense and defense, to students.
• Promote good sportsmanship to students.

Qualifications

• Previous middle or high school football coaching experience.
• Patience to work with middle school students.
• Superior technical knowledge of the sport of football.
• Be available for practice from 2:30 to 5:30 PM Monday to Friday.
• Able to ride the bus along with the team to away contests (early release is around 2:20-2:30 in the afternoon.)
• Proven ability to handle administrative responsibilities of an athletic program.
• Ability to communicate, foster and maintain positive relationships with students, other coaches, administrators, news media, boosters, and parents.
• Transparent and proactive communication, well organized, and detail oriented.
• Has high expectations and coaches with passion and integrity.
• Successful experience in mentoring and developing a coaching staff.
• Ability to deal with and resolve conflict
• Desire to serve others
• Ability to understand and follow policies (PCMS, PPS, MHSAA)
• Must undergo a background check and fingerprinting
