KAKE is Hiring a News Producer Near Wichita, KS
KAKE, the ABC affiliate in Wichita, Kansas, has an opening for a News Producer. We are a fast-paced newsroom that puts an emphasis on breaking news and weather coverage.
DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
- Responsible for directing reporters and photographers to complete assigned tasks, and structuring newscasts to fit within time parameters
- Respond to viewer inquiries and make regular “beat” calls to stay on top of the latest news developments
- Active participant in editorial meetings and take a leadership role in generating story ideas
- Must be active in social media and embrace producing content for multiple platforms
- Must be a team play with a positive attitude and desire to win
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 1 year of television news experience is preferred
- College degree in English, Broadcast Journalism or Mass Communications or equivalent experience
- Strong writing ability, outstanding organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient in multi-tasking, and have a flexible work schedule
