In short, the same qualities we look for in our people. We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant - Corporate Accounting to join Kaiser Aluminum in Franklin, Tennessee! 

Base salary $110,000 to $120,000

What you will work on:

• Responsible for general accounting functions including but not limited to preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, preparation of internal financial statements and reports.
• This position will also provide support to other accounting and Corporate functions, including Plant controllers, shared services, legal, tax and external reporting.
• Lead and conduct the consolidation and reporting processes, including accounting for the impact of foreign exchange rates and elimination of intercompany balances and investment in subsidiaries
• Perform complex balance sheet account reconciliations, effectively researching and resolving accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and analytical reviews and present findings to management
• Prepare governmental filings, including census and unclaimed property reports
• Prepare support for statutory audits of foreign subsidiaries and corporate income tax audits
• Assist in preparation of necessary audit schedules to support SEC filings and footnote disclosures
• Assist with the Company’s SOX 404 program and develop and maintain process and controls documentation as needed
• Completes special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required
• Interface with external auditors for periodic financial reviews, controls testing and other inquiries
• Assist in creating and developing efficiencies within consolidation process
• Maintain regular contact with Plant level accounting teams to obtain and convey information and/or to correct transactions or other erroneous data
• Keep management informed of area activities and any significant problems
• Attend and participate in meetings as necessary
