K2 Energy Solutions Inc is Hiring an Electrical Engineer Near Henderson, NV

Description

K2 Energy Solutions has a great opportunity for someone developing their career and experience around electrical engineering. The Electrical Engineer will be able to specify, design, and develop new electronic circuitry and support existing systems, as well as troubleshoot circuit, board, and system problems.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Design electronic circuitry, Battery Management System (BMS) boards, and Protection Circuit Module (PCM) boards in order to measure a battery’s state of charge, to enable or disable the charging of a battery, or enable or disable the connection of the battery to a load.
  • Design circuity to measure a battery’s cell voltages, measure charge and discharge currents, and control cell balancing circuits. Control indicators, contactors, communication circuits, and on-board power supplies, circuity to protect the measurement and control circuity, while minimizing power consumption.
  • Perform failure analysis of BMS boards, PCMs, and cell monitors to determine cause of failures and corrective action.
  • Design testing circuity to measure component characteristics and for production testing.
  • Design printed circuit boards to implement the circuity that has been designed using CAD tools.
  • Document circuit development, failure analysis, and other circuit performance characteristics using circuit analysis and simulation tools.
  • Work with other members of engineering and other departments to solve problems, define projects, and provide recommendations based on experience.
  • Coordinate with CMs for board prototyping and production.
  • Write patent disclosures for unique circuit solution as created.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in using Altium
  • Thorough knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, and online tools to enhance productivity
  • Extensive knowledge of electronic circuit theory and implementation, as well as printed circuit board layout
  • General knowledge of how batteries are manufactured, how they function, and how they are used
  • Ability to pay strong attention to detail.
  • Job skills that include: strong work ethic, "hands-on" approach, knowledge of industrial equipment, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, data-driven decision making, the ability to work independently or as a team member in a multidisciplinary group, demonstrate team leadership skills, and the ability to drive a project to completion.
  • Interpersonal ability to work with various internal groups, including non-technical employees
