JOB TITLE: 

Junior Packaging Designer 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Design and create packaging and graphics to hold and support our jewelry and accessory products based on customer directions and market trends.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: * 

· Develop and execute packaging designs that will reflect customer’s needs and achieve merchandising objectives. 

· Research material innovation based on brands to help elevate the package design at an affordable cost. 

· Ability to create new packaging and graphic designs through illustrator renderings 

· Ability to craft conceptual direction / creative vision for new packaging/products/collections.  

· Bring a level of creativity, attention to detail and efficiency while working under tight deadlines 

· Collaborate with Design, Sales, and PD team to ensure that designs are engineered to meet cost and margin targets, while remaining aesthetically pleasing and on brand. 

· Learning how to work with Product Development Teams overseas to ensure that proper interpretation of designs is executed into actual samples.  

· Becoming an expert in packaging manifesting and efficiencies for high quality looks at an affordable price.  

· Provide detailed specification information of materials, components and parts to PD and overseas vendors. 

· Constantly shopping retail and the marketplace for new trends, product and packaging concepts, and fixturing.  

Skills/Remarks: 

-1 year experience preferred, willing to train the right candidate with a strong graphics and branded background or comparable education in graphic design or industrial design. 

-Excellent oral and written communication skills - ability to present creative ideas to design director. 

-Highly motivated to research and understand new trends in the market place. 

Excellent rendering skills as well as expertise in Adobe Software, Illustrator and Photoshop 

-Technical expertise and superior knowledge of packaging construction and manufacturing. 

-Sense of urgency and ability to multi-task – with a positive attitude and confidence. 

-Ability to thrive in a fast paced, time sensitive, and ever-evolving business environment and perform under pressure. 

-Highly organized to an ever shifting influx of material and constructions
