JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The purchasing agent negotiates vendor terms, prices and schedules delivery using knowledge of budget and schedule requirements.
Essential Functions

1.Adheres to purchasing policies, processes and procedures.
2.Carries out warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures.
3.Uses knowledge of material work planning and methods engineering processes and procedures to coordinate product deliveries.
4.Negotiates best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements.
5.Uses knowledge of machines and equipment to schedule items necessary to continual production cycles.
6.Oversees tooling management system and adjusts auto orders as needed.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
Required Education and Experience
1.High school diploma or equivalent.
2.Two to three years’ previous experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
1.Associate degree in accounting or supply chain management
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
