The Vice President of Compliance plays a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the compliance and regulatory programs within the K. Hovnanian American Mortgage, L.L.C. (KHAM). This position involves cross-functional collaboration and training to develop and manage compliance initiatives with corporate and various business units, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Conduct state and government agency audits. Review findings through exit interviews. Recommend changes to procedures to management team.
• Establish guidance from State and Government Agencies. Create policies and procedures as needed.
• Ensure data integrity for HMDA submission and prepare HMDA Annual submission.
• Conduct internal compliance assessments. Oversee external TENA reviews. Provide progress, findings, and recommendations to executive leadership to mitigate financial, regulatory, and reputational risks.
• Maintain K. Hovnanian (KHOV) website with K. Hovnanian American Mortgage (KHAM) information. Oversee the relevant compliance disclaimers and provide support to the Corporate Marketing department and the individual business units regarding regulatory requirements concerning advertising. 
• Perform quarterly reviews and submit to National Mortgage Licensing Services (NMLS).
• Facilitate State licensing for the Company in addition to individual licensing requirements.
• Implement companywide training initiatives on FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA/USDA, State, Federal, HMDA Compliance and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with leadership and training departments on program initiatives.
• Initiate, develop, and maintain compliance department procedures ensuring they reflect the evolving regulatory landscape.
• Report violations or suspicious activity to applicable regulatory entities, demonstrating a commitment to regulatory compliance and ethical business practices.
• Research and recommend responses on State and Federal Complaints.
• Provide guidance on applicable laws and regulations to executive leadership and internal stakeholders, ensuring a proactive approach to compliance.
• Manage Loan Coordination department.
• Supervise Compliance Coordinators, Compliance Analysts, and Loan Coordinators.
• Lead a team of compliance professionals and support staff. Provide mentorship to foster professional growth.
Education and/or Experience• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and/or five years of experience in mortgage compliance management.
• Minimum of five years mortgage banking experience or equivalent combination of training and experience in compliance and audit.
