Your Role:We are searching for a passionate and experienced Director of Software Engineering / Tech Lead to lead a talented team of software engineers in building new consumer-facing products, developing robust internal tools, and implement cutting edge AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the software engineering team for K. Hovnanian Digital Products Platform.
• Provide technical leadership and direction for software development efforts focusing on Python (Django), Next.js, Microservices architecture, and using the Azure cloud platform.
• Oversee and direct the full-stack development of complex full-stack systems.
• Partner with Product Management and Design to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software.
• Manage software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and planning to development, deployment, and maintenance.
• Establish clear performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews for your team members, providing constructive feedback for development.
• Supervisory: Has managed Software engineers in prior work experiences
  o Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Associates; planning, assigning and directing work; completing Associate performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining Associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  o Ensure that all new direct reports participate in the Company’s onboarding program.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Significant experience working with modern full-stack frameworks (8 years).
• Confident making architecture decisions that will build upon the foundation.
• Comfort in people management skills, including experience in recruitment, performance management, and creating a positive team environment.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for building high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software systems.
• Understanding of SQL databases, and other related database languages.
• Ability to analyze information and understanding of the software development lifecycle. Experience with Next.js, Azure, Node.js.
