K Health is Hiring a Remote Medical Director-Clinic Lead

About the role:

Join K Health as a Medical Director and Clinic Leader, as we revolutionize healthcare using novel AI powered tools to provide high quality care efficiently - the 'K Way'. We are partnering with the nation's best hospital systems to give patients greater access to care through state of the art Virtual Comprehensive Care Clinics. We are looking for a proven leader who is a data driven, tech-savvy, entrepreneurial, detail-oriented multi-tasker to help grow and lead 24/7 clinics delivering fully remote text and video based care that is both scheduled and on-demand. Backed by K Health’s clinical grade AI technology, you will lead a team of clinicians who will provide comprehensive care that encompasses primary care, behavioral health, and acute care. As the designated clinic leader, you will play a critical role in providing medical leadership, guidance, and policy oversight. You will work directly with the medical network, and lead development opportunities to expand the access and usage of our service. This position requires collaboration with executive leadership, senior medical leadership, clinical teams, and external stakeholders to drive clinical excellence, quality improvement, and strategic initiatives. 

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Become an expert of our AI based care delivery model, which uses data driven models to provide quality, care efficiently
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our clinical practice within our consumer and partnership clinics
  • Own clinical policy and regulatory oversight within Virtual Clinics
  • Collaborate with Practice Managers to assess opportunities for continued operational improvement within the Virtual Clinic
  • Participate in the customization, development, design, standardization, implementation, and review of medical operations, protocols, and data to ensure operational accuracy and efficiency
  • Lead a partnership clinic, from development to launch, be accountable for the oversight and management of clinic operations and practicing clinicians
  • Provide clinical expertise to both internal teams (operations, product, medical, regulatory, non-clinical, marketing, and data science) and external teams to ensure that clinical needs and business strategies are met
  • Share regular updates and create presentations to the Medical Leadership Team as well as other key stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver best in class training for all clinical team members. Modifying as needed to meet the standards and requirements of each partner system. 
  • Establish excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional partners both internally and externally. 
  • Responsible for timely delivery of high-quality clinical quality data and tools, working in concert with data science and analytics teams
  • Support the establishment, maintenance and communication of appropriate policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines 
  • Assist with planning, development, and modification of the clinical workflows and processes for each partnership.
  • Develop and maintain scalable processes and procedures for the medical team
  • Lead or assist in writing, reviewing, and/or approving clinical project deliverables such as scope definition documents, product integration, handbooks, manuals, QA monitoring plan and tools, patient safety management, close-out and handoff plans, and readiness plans.
  • As a virtual clinic expert you will assist with the development of media, presentations, and demonstrations

Additional Duties

  • Clinical hours will vary but anticipate a minimum of 8 per week
  • Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring team members. Effective leadership and critical thinking skills and proven ability to foster team productivity, unity, and cohesiveness
  • Educate patients on appropriate treatments and care plans for their health needs
  • Co-manage patients with external partners within our healthcare delivery model 
  • Manage patient follow ups for chronic care programs
  • Prescribe medication and refills as appropriate
  • Elevate comprehensive remote care; provide compassionate and meaningful care
  • Think on your feet to devise creative solutions to problems that arise or escalate, as appropriate

What we're looking for:

  • 6 years of experience in a leadership role with a proven track record of people and clinic management
  • Experience in development and strategic planning specifically in Start-up environments and Telemedicine ; however, other relevant experiences and skills may be considered by the hiring manager
  • Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring team members.
  • Effective leadership and critical thinking skills and proven ability to foster team productivity, unity, and cohesiveness
  • Highly motivated self starter who thrives working in fast-paced innovative environment while remaining flexible, agile, proactive, resourceful, and efficient
  • Local to the NY Office is preferred, will consider remote for the right person. 
  • Must have an active DEA
  • Must have CAQH profile 
  • Must be enrolled in Medicare
  • Must be Board Certified in Family Medicine
  • Some travel is required (domestic and international) up to 30%
