Position: Construction Foreman
Description: The Foreman plays a crucial role in managing a specific construction project, overseeing materials, tools, and laborers. They are responsible for maintaining a high level of productivity and ensuring project completion.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to manage up to 2 laborers, providing guidance, and delegating tasks effectively.
- Ensure the availability of proper tools at the job site for each project and communicating with the shop foreman to fill any voids and needs.
- Assist the Sales team in ordering major materials required for the project.
- Manage onsite materials, ensuring their organization and accessibility.
- Proactively communicate with the Sales team regarding additional materials needed.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency in completing the job efficiently without compromising quality.
- Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic while on the job.
Key Result Areas (KRA) and Action Items:
1. Efficient Project Execution:
- Aim to complete the project within or under the allocated man-hours specified in the foreman file.
- Provide feedback to ensure accurate and detailed foreman files that aid in project planning and execution.
2. Materials and Tools Management:
- Maintain awareness of the materials and tools required to successfully complete the project.
- Foster over-communication with the Sales team to prevent interruptions in project flow and ensure continuous project efficiency. The Sales team is there to support and enable your success.
3. Attitude of Ownership:
- Embrace an attitude of ownership towards the job site, taking responsibility for its management and success.
- Effectively manage subcontractors and workers to ensure project completion that exceeds customer expectations. Approach the project as an artist, shaping the canvas to deliver the best possible experience.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
-Proficiency in various techniques of the following: Framing, Roofing, Siding, Insulation, Sheetrock, Painting, Flooring, Millwork.
-Construction Tools and Equipment: Extensive knowledge and experience in working with a wide range of construction tools and equipment, ensuring their proper use and maintenance.
-Building Codes and Safety Regulations: Thorough understanding of local building codes and safety regulations to ensure compliance and maintain a safe work environment.
-Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address unexpected challenges or issues that may arise during the project.
-Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively convey instructions, coordinate with team members and subcontractors, and maintain a productive work environment.
-Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team, providing clear directions, and ensuring work is performed efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
-Able to lift loads up to 75 lbs.
-Able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces.
-Able to work in all elements of outdoor environment which include heat, cold, rain, snow wind, etc.
-Capable of working in physical positions that may include kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting, bending over, ect.
Compensation Package:
Hourly Wage based on experience
Profit Sharing based off of completing a project under allotted man hours
