Job Overview:
Due to Company growth, we are actively seeking Distribution Quality Inspectors to join our Construction Team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Distribution Quality Inspector will be responsible for the quality of underground and overhead distribution projects.
Responsibilities:
· Review and understand the existing quality checklist for Electric Distribution overhead and underground inspections from the client as well as any industry standard checklists, should be identified.
· Develop a working knowledge of the client’s Management Model Procedures and Distribution Standards as well as Governmental Guidelines and Regulations applicable to the work being inspected.
· Provide recommendations on any electric overhead and/or underground standards that may need to be updated or reviewed to align with the quality audit checklists.
· Provide updates to overhead and/or underground quality checklists that may be required to account for trends or gaps in data collection and reporting.
· Follow weighting/risk analysis of electric distribution overhead and underground construction tasks.
· Provide recommendations for quality tools and/or databases to input checklist audits and collect inspection data to analyze and report the data.
· Use of proper safeguards such as danger signs, and temporary barriers
· Keep records and provide reports during the construction and issue a final.
· Attend and participate in weekly progress meetings and daily safety meetings.
· Follow the construction schedule and coordinate inspections with construction managers.
· The Inspector is responsible for keeping track, by means of a record system, of all relevant information related to each project site.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Five or more years of related experience in the Construction and Maintenance of Electrical Transmission and Distribution Systems
· General knowledge of electric line work and/or substation construction.
· General knowledge of electric theory.
· General knowledge of applicable environmental regulations governing construction: stormwater pollution prevention, wetlands, stream crossing, and spill response for projects requiring environmental permits or compliance.
· Basic knowledge of industry codes governing the electric industry including NEC, NESC, and OSHA
· Minimum of five (5) years experience in progressive related electric utility industry experience
· Two (2) years of college are preferred.
· Electrical Distribution Experience is required
· The proper use of safety equipment.
· This position requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, applicants must possess a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.
· Proven ability to investigate and solve construction problems in a timely manner with minimum dependence on others.
· Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with all contacts.
· Knowledge of trade agreements, procedures, techniques, work methods and standards used in the construction industry.
