Job PurposeThe Director of Procurement is responsible for overseeing the procurement function within the organization, ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, optimizing costs, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

  • Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with company standards.
  • Ensure all procurement activities are conducted in an ethical manner, maintaining transparency and fairness in all dealings with suppliers and vendors.
  • Manage and oversee the procurement process, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to meet organizational needs.
Create Positive Experiences
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to facilitate effective procurement processes.
  • Resolve procurement-related issues and disputes promptly and professionally, ensuring positive outcomes for all parties involved.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs and provide support to achieve their objectives.
Foster Lifelong Learning
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging procurement technologies to continuously improve procurement practices.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for procurement team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

  • Engage in all assigned learning modules: Demonstrating a commitment to personal and professional development, embracing opportunities to expand knowledge and skills
Exhibit a Pioneering Spirit
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the procurement function, leveraging new technologies and best practices.
  • Lead initiatives to implement procurement automation and digital transformation to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Proactively explore and develop new supplier relationships to diversify the supply base and reduce risk.
Demonstrate Good Stewardship
  • Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring optimal use of financial resources and cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and quality standards.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies in all procurement activities, maintaining a high level of integrity and accountability.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management roles, with 6 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Google Suite
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
