Job Title: Construction Estimator

About the Job:

We are a Syracuse-based commercial General Contractor in search of a motivated individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for completing accurate take-offs, collaborating with vendors, contractors, subcontractors, and preparing estimates and budgets for potential projects. They will work closely with project managers and contractors to ensure a thorough understanding of project scopes, schedules, and other pertinent information. Additionally, the candidate must possess strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Possess a strong understanding and knowledge of construction means and methods.
  • Manage bid load for the company effectively.
  • Read plans and architectural drawings to prepare take-offs for assigned projects.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with OST (On-Screen Takeoff), QB (Quick Bid), Excel, Word, etc.
  • Communicate with clients via phone, email, or meetings to discuss estimates and address any pricing or scope inquiries.
  • Review data to determine material requirements and create itemized pricing lists.
  • Provide additional services as directed, including handling change orders and conducting site visits.
  • Exhibit well-developed estimating, communication, financial analysis, and budgeting skills.
  • Deliver excellent presentations and maintain positive customer relations.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
