Justworks Labs is focused on exploring new products that complement the Justworks PEO and expand our ability to help all small businesses grow and thrive. We operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. We build and adjust direction quickly, all while maintaining the high standards of excellence Justworks customers have come to expect. We work in a collaborative, hybrid office doing 3 in-office days a week.

Who You Are

You’ve been building server side applications for a while now and are comfortable ramping up on an existing product quickly. You’re well versed in server side technologies, and know how to build highly reliable, modular systems that many people can collaborate on at the same time without stepping on each other’s toes. You believe testing is important, and are committed to writing tests that will ensure your code continues to work as the app shifts in unexpected ways around it.

What You Will Work On:

• Gather requirements
• Partner with your team to produce clean, effective, modular backend services
• Work closely with other engineers, product managers and designers on a daily basis
• Play a key role in impactful and visible efforts to scale our technology 
• Implement highly reliable, well tested, well monitored backend services
• Research design patterns and propose technical solutions to all manner of technical issues
• Code, test, and deploy modern web services

• Minimum of 3 years experience in server side development
• Mastery of modern server side languages, preferably Golang, but others such as Java, C , Python, Ruby, etc are ok
• Proficiency with Mysql, Redis, and other modern storage technologies
• Working knowledge of AWS
• You face complexity with eagerness and confidence
• You have experience working with service-oriented architectures
• You thrive working with a team of diverse backgrounds and identities and you seek to bring out the best in your teammates
