Who We Are Looking For:
Anchor Academy is a special education, therapeutic day school that specializes in trauma-informed services for middle school aged students with complex trauma histories, mental health issues, educational challenges, and/or behavioral difficulties. Anchor Academy offers students a supportive environment that addresses their education, clinical, pre-vocational, recreational and behavioral needs. Individual, group, nursing, and milieu counseling are provided.
Anchor Academy promotes a transformational learning experience for students who require alternative pathways for educational and emotional success and growth. The clinical framework provides students with opportunities to increase self-awareness, develop skills needed to regulate, and access various levels of educational and emotional support.
Anchor Academy utilizes unique ARC (Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency) and BCC (Building Communities of Care) treatment frameworks that focus on building individual capacities for emotion regulation, personal strengths, and healthy relationships. Certified special education teachers provide students with curriculum that is aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework.
What You'll Do:
Anchor Academy is seeking a highly organized and professional candidate to serve as the Director of Education. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adolescents, familiarity with Special Education law, DESE regulations, writing IEP’s, facilitating meetings, writing curriculum, differentiating instruction, and the implementation of the schools Anti-Bullying and Anti-Hazing programs and policies.
The Director of Education will construct the master schedule and assign students and staff to classes that meet the regulations of the DESE and the mission of the school. The Director of Education is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of the teachers as well as educational support staff. The Director of Education is also a member of the Administrative Team that will oversee program management, training, and development.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
