As an Early Childhood Substitute Assistant Teacher with our company, you will choose the days and hours that you work each week. We are often asked this question: "I get to make my own schedule each week?" The answer: YES! We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and flexible ECE Assistant Teachers to sub in our partner childcare centers and preschools in and around the Rochester Area. If you have experience in traditional early childhood education, Montessori, Reggio, or even STEM models of education, we would love to hear from you!

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure the Safety and Care of the Children:
• Safeguard the physical, emotional, and social needs of children, providing attentive care and ensuring you follow licensing guidlines.
• Perform routine care activities, including feeding, assisting during nap time, and diapering, to support children's daily routines.
• Uphold building procedures and schedules, taking care of the classroom and outdoor environments.
• Follow all safety expectations including operating within ratio, providing active supervision at all times, and understanding safety procedures for your classroom and center.
• Support Classroom Operations:
• Collaborate with the Center Director and staff to maintain a smooth flow of educational activities, following established lesson plans when available.
• Support classroom set-up, clean-up, meal prep and activity prep as needed to ensure the day runs smoothly for the children.
• Foster Positive Relationships and Collaboration:
• Cultivate positive connections with children, displaying patience, respect, and empathy to encourage their social and emotional development.
• Support children's acquisition of social skills through modeling and guidance and positive discipline, fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff, actively contributing to a cohesive team environment that enhances children's learning experiences.
• Maintain Documentation and Professional Growth:
• Assist in record-keeping procedures, accurately documenting children's progress, behaviors, and important milestones as requested/needed.
• Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay informed about current practices in early childhood education.

And last but probably most important... we are looking for people who LOVE spending time with children and want to have fun being part of the magical early years in children's lives.

Job Types:

Salary:
$16-$19/hr.

Expected hours: 16-40 hrs. per week

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)
• Please see DHS Rule 3 licensing for qualifications.
• Must be at least 18 years old
