The Just 4 Pets Wellness Center team is looking for a dynamic Veterinary Assistant to join our team! If you have a passion for helping animals and their owners as well as a superb work ethic and a desire to learn, we'd love to talk with you!
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during appointments, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, and record vital signs
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing
- Perform dental cleanings and assist with other procedures as needed
- Clean and maintain the hospital and medical equipment
- Provide exceptional customer service to our clients
- Some administrative duties, such as answering phones, client and patient registration, and making appointments
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 1 year of experience as a veterinary assistant or technician
- Knowledge of basic animal care, nutrition, and behavior
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- This position can be highly physical so the ability to lift, stoop, bend and carry up to 50 pounds is a must.
