HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT * Provide Operations & Maintenance (O&M) on a standalone network used for cyber forensics.
* Provides and applies advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools in a hybrid Windows and Linux environment.
* Performs maintenance and provides advanced solutions for continual and highly complex security, backup and redundancy problems.
* Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures
* Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes.
* May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.
* May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)
* Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency.
* Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure.
* Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED: * Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or other IT-related discipline
* Required Experience: 10 years
* Technical skills:
* Active Directory * Ubuntu/RHEL Linux
* Cisco Routers/Switches (LAN network design or other experience desirable)
* Domain Name System (DNS)
* Intelligence Community (IC) PKI x.509 certificates
* LAN Networking
* Network Attached Storage (NAS)
* VMWare installation and configuration (vSphere / ESXi)
* Virtual LANs (VLANs)
* Windows Server (2016 or later)
* PowerShell scripting
* Software upgrades to GOTS and COTS software (including MS SQL Server)
