Role: Works within the Business Education and Information Systems Team. The in-Touch Instructor /Staff Development shall be responsible for coordinating orientation, in-services, mentoring and continuing educational programs. Assists in the management of the day to day operations of the wellness component of the community to ensure the maximum levels of resident functional ability, safety and well being. This is accomplished by taking into account Juniper Village’ philosophy, hallmarks, policies and procedures as well as current federal, state and local regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance to Juniper Village’ philosophy and hallmarks as well as all written policies and procedures that govern the operation of the Business Education and Information Systems Departments.
  • Participates in associate orientation to inform new associates of quality assurance activities.
  • Plan and Implement the In-Touch Orientation and in-service training for all associates to ensure that training meets all state, local and federal regulations and requirements.
  • Utilizes competency and new hire checklists and completes according to required time frame.
  • Ensure that all staff are trained annually and follow established safety regulations, including fire protection, infection control, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous waste and quality assurance procedures
  • Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
  • Plan and implement trainings, provide education and coaching for associates to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.
  • Maintain attendance records with original signatures on all in-service programs and course materials or outlines that staff who are unable to attend the program may review.

Requirements:

  • A current LPN license in good standing. (required)
  • Previous management experience in healthcare or service-related setting.
  • Past teaching experience preferred; preferably with teaching/training responsibilities
  • Knowledge of the physiology and psychology of the older adult.
  • Leadership and Communication skills.
