Program Lead - BizTown, Finance Park

Junior Achievement of South Florida

Full-time: 7:00 – 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday, additional hours as needed

Location: Coconut Creek, FL 33066

Pay rate: Annual Salary, based on skills and experience.

Summary:

The JA BizTown / JA Finance Park Program Lead is responsible for ensuring the participating students and teachers have a successful and engaging day at JA BizTown or JA Finance Park. The Program Lead works directly with fifth or eighth grade students, teachers, parent volunteers, college students, and corporate volunteer teams. This position reports to the Program Manager and is a key member of the JA team, ensuring that students learn and thrive during their experience with Junior Achievement of South Florida.

What you will do:

  • Execute a best-in-class learning experience during student JA BizTown and JA Finance Park visits, aligning simulations with curriculum learning objectives and creating authentic application opportunities.
  • Manage onsite engagement of up to 150 students per day by coordination daily simulation schedule (approx. 4 hrs.) and other logistics to ensure completion of simulation day.
  • Help students and volunteers use a browser-based simulation program on tablets and computers.
  • Facilitate onsite volunteer training and provide support throughout the simulation to volunteers to help them coach students by applying their personal experiences within the context of the simulations.
  • Solicit volunteer and teacher feedback to improve program quality.
  • Maintain and update Job Directions for students.
  • Provide creative input to supervisor regarding possible educator/volunteer recognition.
  • Communicate with lead teachers via regular scheduled communications.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to all who contribute to renewing commitments from existing schools and educators involved in the program.
  • Maintain the established recordkeeping system and processes to ensure program runs effectively.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot common issues with simulation software and/or store front technology.
  • Simulation Prep and Reset – ensure that program resources and all essential materials for students and volunteers are prepared and ready prior to arrival.
  • Provide lead teachers and principal with stewardship and recognition.
  • Attend teacher or volunteer networking/appreciation events.
  • Collect and enter key students and program data.
  • Coordinate with team to gather and share feedback about the simulation experience.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Work effectively with teachers, students, volunteers, and fellow staff.
  • Maintain a positive and encouraging attitude.
  • Show patience and adaptability when working with students.
  • Able to comfortably engage and lead large groups.
  • Be Resourceful, a creative problem solver.
  • Communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, Spanish or Creole is a plus.
  • Experienced using office equipment and Microsoft Suite is required.
  • Able to pass a background check to work with youth.
  • Conduct oneself in accordance with the values of Junior Achievement of South Florida.
  • Be professional and caring always.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs., vision to include, ability to adjust focus, stand for extended periods of time.
