Junction Center for Independent Living, Inc seeks a compassionate, dependable individual interested in a rewarding and personally fulfilling career assisting residents with disabilities in Lee, Scott, and Wise counties and the City of Norton. Position would perform marketing and educational services as well as providing advocacy, mentoring and independent living skills training for this specific consumer population. Bachelor’s degree in human service or associates degree with 2-year minimum experience in a similar field is required. Computer skills needed include Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point among others. Excellent listening, interviewing, and oral and written communication skills also required. Previous experience in interviewing, advocating, problem solving, and working in a team setting in a community-based program is a plus. Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply. General Responsibilities:
Provide individuals with disabilities information and assistance with accessing vaccines, connecting to other services, inclusion and access to activities that address social isolation and social determinants of health and other activities that ensure individuals with disabilities have information, connection, and access to health services and support.
Duties Include:
Assist individuals with disabilities in receiving vaccinations and boosters as well as provide assistance for individuals who have been exposed and/or have contracted COVID.
· Assist consumers with securing needed services and supports, including transportation, housing, SSA, SNAP, and other identified social determinants of health.
· Represent JCIL at community functions as assigned.
