The Distribution Center Operations (DC Ops) Manager is responsible for the overall planning, organizing and operations of The Juice Plus Distribution Center. This role drives safety, operational excellence, and ultimately, an exceptional partner and employee experience within the DC. This role encompasses all distribution functions, including receiving, warehousing, handling, and outbound shipping.
This leadership role encompasses developing and engaging a high-performing team, motivating, and mentoring the DC's future leaders, and ensuring effective communication. Our Distribution Center currently operates one day shift Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities:
•Direct all distribution activities, including Safety; Inbound; Outbound, Kitting, Inventory Management; Returns; Shipment documentation; WMS utilization, Workforce optimization, P&L accountability, and handling of returned/damaged goods.
•Leads daily and/or weekly meetings with staff to address and identify issues, improve efficiencies, safety awareness, changing work rules, new opportunities, and compliance issues.
•Works closely with DC operations supervisors and administrative staff to plan and lead all assigned DC activities to ensure quality delivery of all daily production goals; may design and implement work methods and procedures to increase productivity and improve service to internal and external customers.
•Ensures safety program is effective by ensuring all DC employees/contractors receive safety training, employees are retrained, proper action is taken when safety procedures are not followed and reviews all accident reports.
•Ensure physical inspection of facilities and equipment are compliant with local, state and OSHA regulations.
•Prepare and administer performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback.
•Identify training and development opportunities for learning and growth; teach, support, and model DC and Company policies and procedures.
•Evaluate performance objectives and metrics to determine inbound or outbound productivity requirements to achieve partner time, accuracy, and quality expectations.
•Provide accurate reporting to senior management.
•Any other applicable duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Requirements
Qualifications / Experience:
•Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Operations Logistics, Transportation related field required or equivalent years of experience.
•5 or more years of management experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment where candidate demonstrated leadership and motivational ability, time management and organizational skills, training, coaching, and counseling is required.
•2 or more years of experience motivating and leading a diverse workforce is required.
•Ability to work well under pressure (conflicting priorities, absenteeism etc.) and handle multiple tasks.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Capacity and desire to master other Company tools such as Warehouse Management System and other supply chain solutions is required.
•Demonstrated people skills including influencing skills, listening and the ability to communicate effectively to diverse groups.
•Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus.
Physical Requirements
•Work primarily in a distribution center environment. Must be able to remain stationary and continually move for up to 8 - 9 hours per day.
•Must be able to lift 30 pounds, push, pull, bend and reach with or without reasonable accommodation.
•Must be able to move and work in a non-climate-controlled distribution center environment.
