Duties

The Building Support Technician (Laundry) performs laundry services in the Court's laundry facility. Launders and presses a wide variety of garments and fabrics.

Processes laundry tasks through completion including sorting, washing, pressing, folding, stacking, and hanging as required.

  • Inspects garments for damage, excessive wear or failure to properly clean and reports findings to appropriate person; maintains records of work performed and provides details to supervisor;
  • performs daily routine maintenance of equipment such as washers, dryers, pressers and irons; maintains a clean and safe work area;

maintains required stocks of supplies and informs supervisor of needed materials. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Prior laundry experience desirable. Must be able to lift and maneuver a minimum of 35 pounds; prolonged periods of standing, lifting, bending and reaching are required.

Knowledge of safety procedures when working with laundry equipment; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to perform under pressure, communicate and interact in a professional and cooperative manner.

Education

High school education is required.
