Requisition Name: Cybersecurity Engineer
Estimated Duration: 12 Months Contract
Location Requirement: Must reside in or relocate to Nebraska within 1 hour of Lincoln or within the Omaha metro area.
Job Summary:
Join our team as a Cybersecurity Engineer and contribute to safeguarding the digital infrastructure. This vital role involves the design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced cybersecurity measures. You will work on-site as part of the Information Security Team and will be required to be on-call.
Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain cybersecurity infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and encryption solutions.
- Perform security assessments and penetration testing to identify system vulnerabilities.
- Develop security policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Monitor security events and alerts to respond to incidents promptly.
- Collaborate on secure architectures for new projects and initiatives.
- Engage in proactive threat hunting to identify and mitigate security threats.
- Manage security tools and technologies, including SIEM, DLP, WAF, and IAM systems.
- Deliver security awareness training to staff, promoting cybersecurity best practices.
- Keep abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats and technologies.
- Participate in incident response, including triage, containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or a related role (7 years with an Associate's degree).
- Comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threat landscape, and attack vectors.
- Proficiency in managing security technologies like firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, and endpoint protection.
- Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and other security frameworks.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferred certifications: CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Must pass background checks and employment screenings.
