JTS Financial Services is Hiring an Accounting Associate Near Little Rock, AR

Description

The Accounting Associate will support the finance department by handling all company mail, processing invoices, processing employee expense reports, creating customer invoices and recording payments received for the collective companies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Receives accounting related mail via scan and files in appropriate online filing system.
  • Enters external vendor invoices into the accounting system in accordance with company procedures. 
  • Receive and save employee expense reports in appropriate online filing system.
  • Enter employee expense reports into the accounting system in accordance with company procedures.
  • Investigates and resolves issues associated with processing of vendor invoices and expense reports.
  • Receives a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning invoice or expense report status. Research, resolve and respond appropriately via phone or email. 
  • Receives corporate credit card expense reports and saves in appropriate online filing system.
  • Posts corporate credit cards purchases and reconciles credit card accounts.
  • Create receivable invoices from various sources and accurately record all payments received.
  • Create client invoices and email to clients as needed.
  • Process bank deposits via remote deposit capture.
  • Maintain payable and receivable accounts in accounting software, adding, or updating information as needed. 
  • Maintain accounts receivable and payable records to ensure aging is up to date.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and payable balances and report late accounts to appropriate personnel.
  • Back-up for payroll processing using third party payroll software.
  • Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department

  • Communication: Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Listens and when needed, gets clarification. Practices active listening skills to determine the nature of the problem/call. Practices excellent telephone and written communication skills including voice tone and grammar.
  • Teamwork: Contributes to building positive team morale.
  • Must be able to do math. Must be able to carry out complex written instructions. Must be able to prioritize demands that work with frequent interruptions.
  • Attendance/Punctuality: Is consistently at work and on time. Ensures work responsibilities are covered.
  • Confidentiality is a must.

Work Experience Required for this Job:

  • Minimum of 12 years of AP/AR or general accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of QuickBooks Enterprise knowledge and use required.
  • Experience working with intercompany billing.
  • Experience working with job and class accounting.
  • General ledger knowledge required.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Adobe and Outlook.
  • Experience in working with multiple companies owned and operated under one umbrella.

Education Required for this Job:

  • High School Diploma or higher.
  • College or Technical School degree a plus but not required.
