Summary/Purpose:
Provide leadership to assigned department(s) consisting of Team leader(s) and operators. Lead problem solving efforts to drive improvements to SQDC performance.
Job Responsibilities:

• Confers with other Leaders, Supervisors, Support Personnel, and Managers to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Directs and coordinates day to day work assignments of associates in the area.
• Coordinate attendance, vacation, absenteeism in conjunction with Team Leader on a daily basis.
• Manage and promote FMDS process
• Maintain production, quality and scrap records on a daily basis.
• Daily pitch assigned department(s) and drive scrap reduction initiatives.
• Work with Production Improvement Team to meet constant improvements objectives. Utilize process observations, KPIs and/or other tools to meet improvement targets.
• Schedule operations to accommodate maintenance requests, equipment shutdowns, and major repairs. Drive TPM efforts.
• Schedule equipment to satisfy production demand with available resources.
• Ensure associates are working safely, following all safety rules and procedures. Also ensures equipment is meeting all safety requirements.
• Drive and promote continuous improvement problem solving.
• Lead/coach associates to participate in continuous improvement and QC circles
• Determine the staffing, equipment and tooling required for the given level of production for assigned department(s).

Major accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

• Safety and 5S performance
• Customer satisfaction and Corrective Action Implementation
• Bekido, Chokko, & PPLH improvements
• On time delivery performance
• Process improvement/waste elimination/lead time reduction
• Support all external requests and audits as required
• Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Enforces company policies, rules and procedures to associates.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Responsible for directing the hiring, training, and development of associates in assigned department(s).
• Administer performance reviews for hourly associates. Recommend promotions, wage increases, and disciplinary measures as needed.
• Lead and manage all resources to ensure the achievement of all KPI’s.

Education and Experience and Development:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in a high production manufacturing environment
• Professional Experience in a leadership type role

• Work is mostly performed in the manufacturing setting (approx. 75%) and in the office setting (approx. 25%) with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards and with substantial time spent working on a computer. Requires sufficient hand, arm and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment.

The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes and mandatory hearing protection.
