Production Technician (2nd Shift) Summary/PurposeThe Technician B Assembly will support manufacturing activities and team members while following policies and procedures related to successful manufacturing operations. Essential Duties and Accountabilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.Drive and lead team in 5SRelieve Team Lead as neededPerform preventative maintenance are required by the scheduleTroubleshot short stops and perform required quality checksOperate and maintain various equipment at an acceptable level with emphasis on quality, IATF 16949 standard, safety/environmental, 5S and productivityOperate and maintain automated and semi-automated equipment in a high-volume production environmentAble to communicate and perform in a fast paced, team environment with a positive outlook in communication and conduct with othersAdherence to all company policies and proceduresFlexible to work in any area of operation/shift as neededTravel as neededMay perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned by management. Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.Demonstrated ability to properly use various gauging equipment (i.e., calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, etc.) Knowledge of equipment condition check sheets and required documentationAble to perform preventive maintenance as required by the P.M. scheduleAble to perform required quality checks and to troubleshoot sort stops.Problem solving and decision making skills – gather, organize, and analyze information to resolve a problem/situation and make sound decisions consistent with JTEKT philosophyAble to cross train on all linesDemonstrate and support the JTKET philosophy and policiesWillingness to learn, master new tasks, policies and procedure in a timely mannerDemonstrated initiative and ability to work without the need for constant direction/supervisionKnowledge of and application of JTEKT standards for quality, IATF 16949, standard work, safety, environmental, IS14001 and ergonomic.Proven ability to contribute toward the success of the team and the companyProficient English communication skillsRegular and punctual attendance is requiredAbility to work overtime and any shift as needed Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Work Environment/Physical Demands: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. May be required to lift during shift up to 40 lbs.Specific vision abilities required with this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas, which require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields.
