Project Engineer
JT Wimsatt Contracting, Inc., a building industry leader, founded in 1992, delivering projects with superior quality, on time and within budget for our clients. JT Wimsatt serves both public and private sector clients with a range of commercial, industrial, residential, government and specialty construction projects.
We are currently seeking a Project Engineer for our San Diego location. This position reports to the Project Manager.
At JT Wimsatt you will have the opportunity to work on landmark projects that you will be proud of. If you are a college graduate looking to begin a career in construction management or have previous experience as a Project Engineer – we are interested.
As a project engineer you would be involved from the beginning of the construction process until the project closes out. Our company offers the opportunity for you to be involved in many different facets of the construction process including pre-planning, labor, material, and equipment management, scheduling, accounting, and estimating.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate, document, distribute, and coordinate RFIs and Submittals with project teams
- Develop and track weekly labor goals and production tracking
- Generate quality control reports and surveys to ensure project compliance
- Assist with monitoring and recording construction work schedules
- Coordinate with clients and design team to facilitate design and constructability
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelors' Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management or similar field
- A combination of construction management and engineering experience will be accepted in lieu of formal education
- Flexible with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, andWord )
Candidates will be subject to background, drug screening, and must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
