Overview

JST is currently seeking a Adjunct Instructor - Nuclear Deterrence to join our team.

This is a full-time HYBRID position at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL. JST offers a full benefit package, a collaborative work environment and strong company culture. Veterans and military spouses are encouraged to apply. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Adjunct Instructors play a vital role in the AU Academic Education and Research Support program by providing specialized instruction in key areas of study required by the Air University (AU) client. These areas include Cross-Cultural Competence, Cross-Cultural Negotiations, and Nuclear Deterrence. Adjunct Instructors are responsible for developing and delivering curriculum, engaging students in meaningful learning experiences, and contributing to the advancement of the program's educational objectives. They bring real-world expertise and academic rigor to the classroom, enhancing the educational value for students.

Adjunct Instructor Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality course content in one of the specified areas of study. Utilize innovative teaching methods to engage students and foster a deep understanding of the subject matter.
  • Actively engage students through various instructional methods that cater to a range of learning styles. Assess student performance through appropriate evaluation methods and provide constructive feedback.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in their field of expertise and incorporate this knowledge into their teaching. Engage in research activities that contribute to the academic community and the program's objectives.
  • Collaborate with program staff and fellow instructors to enhance the curriculum and instructional practices. Contribute to the program's continuous improvement by providing feedback and suggestions based on teaching experiences.
  • Ensure adherence to military, educational, and programmatic standards in curriculum development and delivery. Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.

Adjunct Instructor Qualifications

  • A Master's or Doctorate (Preferred) Degree in the relevant field of study (e.g., International Relations, Cultural Anthropology, Security Studies) is required.
  • The specific area of study should align with one of the program's key areas: Cross-Cultural Competence, Cross-Cultural Negotiations, or Nuclear Deterrence.
  • Extensive experience in the relevant area of study, with a proven track record of professional practice and/or research.
  • Experience in teaching or training, preferably in military, defense, or higher education settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver curriculum and assess student learning outcomes effectively.

Required Clearances and Screenings

  • DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one (A higher clearance level may be required depending on the course content & student audience)
  • MUST be able to pass a US Government Security Clearance
