We are currently looking for a Production Process Engineering Manager - Molded Parts to be based out of our Tullahoma, Tennessee facility. This role exists to lead, coordinate and direct engineers and cross functional groups to solve problems, develop new technologies and processes and launch new products and programs at multiple JSP facilities. The Process Engineering manager also oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency and ensures the engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Establish goals and objectives for molding technical programs in Jackson, MI, Butler, PA, and Tullahoma, TN. Solicit input from sales, quality and engineering leaders to ensure department goals are consistent with overall business goals. Based on input, develop local goals and objectives for engineering individual contributors at each location. Select the appropriate design concepts and fundamental technologies for new products/processes or for improvements for existing products/processes. Define equipment and human resource requirements to meet goals and objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams with representation from quality, engineering, sales, and manufacturing to identify opportunities for improvement, to identify and implement solutions to chronic problems, to design and complete process studies, to define capital requirements, to start-up/qualify new processes, programs and products. Review and analyze proposals submitted to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures. Ensure process data is properly reviewed and studied to identify process and product trends. Check technical accuracy of work. Present results, findings and recommendations to Business Team members. Approve and submit proposals considered feasible to management for consideration and allocation of funds. Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring projects such as preparation of records of expenditures, progress reports, and meeting minutes, in order to inform management of current status of each project. Directs the review of production costs and product quality, to recommend action plans to improve quality and reduce costs.
  • Review new product offerings for manufacturability. Ensure products can be produced on time and within budget and quality targets. Complete manufacturing analysis so that cost targets are reasonable and accepted by the sales and manufacturing groups.
  • Select, develop, train and supervise technical staff. Complete performance planning and individual goal setting for the engineering team members. Follow-up on progress to ensure project completion. Identify training and development opportunities to improve team member performance and capabilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 7 years leadership and supervisory experience in a production environment.
  • Strong statistical process control skills
  • Strong problem solving skills and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to teach others to lead cross functional groups
  • Strong communications and time management skills
  • Designing and Specifying New Equipment
  • Basic Knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical and Hydraulic Circuitry
  • Teaching knowledge of basic Physics and Chemistry and general process dynamics
  • Basic Understanding of Control Systems
  • Ability to lead training classes and teach others effectively
