Position Summary: 

As a Project NDT Technician, you will work with a safety-first team of Level II NDE Technicians responsible for onsite inspections of vessels, tanks, and piping for the customer. The goal of the Technician is Operation Excellence and Technical Quality. This is a project- based position to assist with summer and fall shutdown outages. Part of project will start end of July with the larger outage starting at the end of August and will last approximately two to three months, depending if the applicant is working both outages or only the larger outage. The position is dependent on volume and business needs.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • You will perform NDT inspections onsite during project length using UT II (L) & PT and MT methods.
  • This Role includes delivery of services on time, safety and with the highest quality possible.
  • Where qualifies the position supports training, Technique development, and delivery of specialized services utilizing automated and computerized inspection systems.
  • Customer service oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Observe and learn proper documentation process required for NDT testing.
  • Follow and enforce the Company required safe work practices and procedures at all times.
  • Actively participates in JSA and uses all necessary steps to complete tasks safely and ensures the safety of others working in the area.
  • Communicates with all levels of management and crew to effectively present any needs and changes.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability and interest to become a level II certified Technician in multiple NDT methods.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to adhere to a written method or procedure.
  • Confidence to STOP work when a problem is immediately identified.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products, preferred.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding inspection technology, preferred. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Management Responsibilities:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
