RESPONSIBILITIES

Assistant Teacher:

• Work cooperatively with the lead teacher in teaching and implementing activities and plans as described above
• Implement activities that ensure the safety, involvement, and creativity of each individual in the group.
• Work with the Lead Teacher to plan, discuss and implement daily plans in accordance with the current curriculum, incorporating the Ohio Department of Education Standards.
• Lead, coach and mentor less experienced teachers in your classroom; model behaviors and provide feedback

• Proven teaching experience
• Excellent understanding of the principals of child development and a love for children with a strong desire to teach and make a difference
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Reliable
• Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Ability to handle multiple situations effectively
• Organized with attention to detail

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of an Preschool CDA (Child Development Associate credential) or an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education

The following certifications are required: First-Aid, Communicable Disease, CPR (infant/child/adult) and Child Abuse Certifications within 90 days
