jpshealthnet is Hiring an Echo Vascular Sonographer - JPS Main- Evening Near Fort Worth, TX

Job Summary: The Echo Cardiovascular Sonographer I-IV performs complex 2-D echocardiography, color flow and echo doppler procedures along with performing complex lower, upper venous and arterial procedures carotid dopplers and lower segmental pressures on all patients as prescribed by the medical provider.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:

  1. Performs procedures as ordered and obtains images according to written protocols.
  2. Assists the Cardiologist or designee along with other staff in stress echocardiography and transesophageal echo procedures.
  3. Performs complex lower and upper venous and arterial procedures along with lower segmental pressures, carotid doppler and vein mapping.
  4. Positions and immobilizes patient on exam table and observes during scan under direction of physician. Monitors video display of area being scanned and adjusts density or contrast to improve picture quality. Reviews and evaluates computer generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  5. Views sonograms, adjusts equipment to obtain images, including color distinctions and distinguishes audible sounds.
  6. Organizes and accurately performs the individual steps in the sonographic procedure in the proper sequence.
  7. Performs and documents quality control on equipment according to manufacture guidelines or department protocols; recognizes and takes appropriate action for abnormal results. Reports equipment problems and failures to Bio-Medical or Manager.
  8. Ensures a safe and clean environment with all the necessary supplies needed to perform studies and procedures in exam room.
  9. Understands and uses Picture Archival Computer System (PACS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and other software related to job responsibilities.
  10. Engages in equitable distribution of departmental workloads.
  11. Ability to work in variable environments and locations.
  12. Performs routine assignments using existing procedures, and has conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within a discipline, typically acquired through technical training.
  13. Develops competence by performing structured work assignments, and receiving instruction, guidance, and direction from others.
