POSITION SUMMARY

The Router Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating flatbed CNC router machines in order to route and mill high density urethane (HDU), PVC, and other substrates within specifications for a wholesale sign manufacturer.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates JPS Signs values and shares the organizational commitment to ensuring quality products and processes through the CNC process and beyond.

Responsible for maintaining safety and quality standards, following standard operating procedures, keeping accurate records, maintaining equipment and supplies while striving for 100% on-time, on-quality delivery to customers.

Description:

· Maintain a safe work environment at all times

· Set up routers (fixtures, tools, speed, etc...)

· Oversee cutting process, make adjustments throughout each job, adjust settings as needed throughout the run and take necessary measures to eliminate errors

· Correctly perform secondary operation set ups according to work instructions

· Inspect all jobs prior to processing AND after completed at router for accuracy and uniformity based on work order and customer artwork.

· Complete QC sheet for each work order as applicable.

· Set-up and pre-program jobs as backup to main programmer to successfully conduct the run

· Perform daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including lubrication, cleaning and tool replacement

· Maintain a clean and organized work center per 5S standards; (Straighten Up, Sort, Sweep, Standardize, and Sustain)

· Manage & control materials cost maximizing usage and inventory.

· Assist in prep work when necessary.

· Adhere to all regulatory compliance guidelines.

· Attention to detail is a must to ensure the quality of products.

· Required to work independently and efficiently.

· Follow daily production schedule. If issues are found, notify management for decision/resolution.

· May have interaction with customers, outside sales, couriers, and general public. As such, you will be required to act in a professional and courteous manor at all times.

WORK EXPERIENCE

· 1-3 years of experience preferred in router operation position in a manufacturing environment, preferably in custom job environment.

· Experience with EnRoute or other CAM software preferred

· Experience with ERP software, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Gerber Composer, and Vector Graphics strongly preferred

· High school diploma or equivalent

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

· Maintain good communication skills, both written and verbal

· Solid computer skills

· Solid math skills

· Able to read basic measuring devices such as calipers and tape measures, technical drawings, and diagramed instructions.

· Able to perform physically demanding work: standing for long periods of time, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 55 lbs independently and 75 lbs with assistance. Frequent movements of hands, wrists, and arms. Visual acuity - able to see objects less than a few feet in distance and maintain good eye health.

· Ability to work up to work occasional weekday and weekend overtime, up to an average of 25%.
