Job Description:

Description: Plans, conducts, coordinates, and implements a comprehensive training program for the pharmacy department. Training components will be geared toward new hires, existing staff, and individuals seeking one-on-one assistance. Provides mentoring and coaching to team members to ensure compliance with established processes.

Typical Duties:

Reviews computer-based learning (CBL) activities and update content as needed.
Coordinate and conduct annual skills fair assessment and provide feedback to team members and pharmacy leadership.
Collaborate with pharmacy leadership and key players to identify department training needs.
Develop and implement an effective training plan for pharmacy team members.
Develop monitoring systems to ensure that all team members are performing job responsibilities in a satisfactory fashion according to training.
Identifies skill or knowledge gaps among pharmacy team members and develops training content in response to identified training needs.
Creates course content, manuals, or other training material.
Responsible for pharmacy team member development, including coaching to ensure desired skill proficiency and process consistency across outpatient pharmacy locations.
Trains frontline team members as a Pharmacy Tech. Will need to support the operation and other team members (including, but not limited to entering patient/prescription information into the computer, assisting patients with prescription needs, assisting with filling prescription orders, performing cashier functions, and track prescription orders via pharmacy tracking program).
Revises existing training materials and programs based on audit results, questionnaires, changing procedures, and feedback from internal/external stakeholders.
Assesses the impact of training programs by measuring employee understanding of the subject matter.
Facilitate in-person, online, and/or live webinar training and activities.
Evaluate technician abilities by administering pre and post-training assessments.
Schedule training programs and prepares training status reports, assessments, and evaluation tools.
Serves as a subject matter expert by providing support and development of staff.
Maintain a high level of professionalism, consistent with company standards in dress and personal appearance.
Self-motivated with personal integrity and ability to work effectively with other staff.
Works as a frontline team member as needed to support the operation and other team members.
Help promote teamwork and positive morale upholding JPS culture.
Assures JPS Policies and Procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards are being followed while performing all job duties.
Periodic travel to clinic locations, if necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of experience working in a pharmacy.
  • Experience supporting team members in the development of their skills and abilities.
OR
In lieu of a Bachelor’s
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Six (6) plus years of experience working in a pharmacy.
  • Experience supporting team members in the development of their skills and abilities.
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Certification:
  • Current registration through the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • National Pharmacy Certification (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Experience as a workforce trainer.
