Job Description:
Job Summary: The Emergency Medical Tech I-IV performs various technical duties and tasks which include assisting with direct and indirect treatment and care of patients.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
Provides emergency first aid treatment.
Responds to medical emergencies.
Performs basic patient care with consideration for age and developmental stage.
Transports patients by wheelchair or stretcher.
Notifies nurse of abnormal findings or changes in patient status.
Performs clerical functions.
Accesses and navigates through Epic.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of the Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B TX) curriculum as defined by the State of Texas.
- State Registration as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B TX).
- Current JPS-recognized BLS certification and must be maintained throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Level 1 EKG Competency (subsequent to hire).
