JPS Health Network is Hiring an Advanced Practice Psychiatric Fellowship Near Fort Worth, TX

Job Description:

Acclaim Psychiatry APP Fellowship Program Open Application Dates:
March 1 through March 31

The Community-Focused Psychiatry Fellowship for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) is a one-year, post-graduate fellowship in the department of behavioral health and psychiatry that provides specialized education for APPs working in community psychiatry settings. The program seeks to support the transition from student to provider and includes concepts of evidence-based practice, mentorship, ethical decision making, and quality focused care. APP fellows are employed full-time for one year and rotate through the consult-liaison service, psychiatric emergency room, inpatient setting, and outpatient clinic. In addition to clinical rotations, fellows participate in interdisciplinary didactics for 8 hours per week.

Selection Process:

  • Completion of application with Acclaim (see below)
  • Participation in interviews with selection committee.
  • The selection committee then ranks candidates with standardized tool and offers a fellow position to the highest ranking PMHNP and PA.
  • Following acceptance of a fellow position, the credentialing process with Acclaim and JPS Health Network begins.
Community- Focused Fellowship for APPs Completion Requirements:
  • OPPE
  • Completion of pre-test
  • 70% attendance of didactics for 12 months
  • 70% attendance at required meetings
  • Participation in Mentorship program
  • Completion of cross-training to PEC, Outpatient, CL, Inpatient
  • Completion of the clinical-skills checklist
  • Passing score (70%) on the post-exam
  • Passing score (70%) on observed psychiatric interview
  • Completion of fellowship and mentor evaluation
  • Completion of Job Satisfaction Scale


Application Process:

To be considered for the Acclaim Psychiatry APP Fellowship program, you must submit an application along with all required documentation below during the open application time frame (March 1 – March 31, 2024). When submitting your online application, you will also need to attach the following documentation for your application to be considered complete:

  • Curriculum Vitae with professional work history, education, and clinical rotations.
  • Work history must include dates (month and year), status (full time, part time, etc)
  • Clinical rotations must include the location, dates, # of hours completed, and your preceptors name and title.
  • Letter of recommendation from a prior employer or your educational program. These letters can be addressed to the Psychiatry APP Fellowship Director.
  • Essay Responses (There is no required length for the following responses. Please type your responses and include them on a separate document. There does not need to be a separate document for each response.
    • Please describe your most meaningful health related experience that has led you to seek a career in behavioral health. Be sure to include the value of your experiences that prepare you to be a psychiatric advanced practice provider.
    • Please describe your personal characteristics (background, talents, skills, etc.) that would add to treatment teams.
    • Please describe any past academic recognition (significant academic honors, awards, scholarships or other academic recognition), leadership (Leadership roles or positions of responsibility) and community service activities (Non-health care related community service or volunteer activities).

  • Graduation from either an ARC accredited PA program OR graduation from a nationally accredited PMHNP program (ie CCNE)
  • Valid and unencumbered licensure as a PMHNP or PA
  • Unrestricted DEA certificate
  • If you are a current JPS Health Network Employee, you must not be under any disciplinary action or on a performance improvement plan.
